Submission for Brackeys Game Jam 2020.1 (Theme: Holes)

How to Play:

  • WASD - Move
  • Left Click - Use
  • Space - Jump
  • Left Shift - Extend view
  • Q - Toggle Flashlight

I used the standard FPS controller and some CC0 sound effects from OpenGameArt.org. Everything else is created by myself using Blender, Unity and FL Studio.

I wanted to focus on atmosphere with this game and I have a weird attraction to utility tunnels. I recommend downloading the game for better quality.

If you can't figure it out or get stuck, I created this walkthrough:

SPOILERS:

  1. Pick a rock from the table and throw it at the glass next to it. Pull the lever behind the glass to open a pathway to a secret room with a hint for the number puzzle.
  2. The correct numbers for the floor cover are determined by adding the two numbers by their side. For example 1 + 4 = 5, 4 + 3 = 7, 3 + 1 = 4 and so on...
  3. As for the computer password, there's a riddle written on a wall under the floor grill. The answer is a 10 letter word.

It's a good idea. But maybe you need more hints ....

why is this tagged linux?

btw if it was an accident you can still change it

The downloadable should work on linux, but I quess it doesn't then... I'll look into it.

the password for the door is the single most impossible  absurd, futile, hopeless, impassable, inaccessible, unattainable, unimaginable, unworkable, puzzle ever. With there being so many red herrings like the pass - 18, and unreadable writing on the wall, or even the math symbols, I am actually stuck.

Well, thanks for the feedback :D. The yellow text is meaningless and the black writing is a riddle for the password. SPOILER: The password is 'icebreaker'. :)

Ohmyyyyy thank youuu I had been here since Monday. The first riddle on the ground was nice though, overall great game! I love these browser based ones that i can play at school, thank you for responding too

I agree with my fellow colored brother. This game was very fun yet very challenging and I would love to keep playing more games like this to take my mind off of the daily troubles school brings to an average student.

It has been 2 days and I am still unable to figure out the final password. Please help!!!<3

SPOILER: The password is 'icebreaker'. :)

Thank you but can you please explain how one would come to this conclusion and finally beat the game.

The riddle written on the wall is 'I break the shell of northern seas'. Since seas tend to freeze in winter, the 'shell' represents the frozen surface. Also ICE and Icebreaker is often used in Sci-Fi and stands for Intrusion Countermeasures Electronics, so I figured it would be fitting here. :P

any hints? 11/13 aren't it. I don't think the code on the screen has numbers either. Absolutely no clue how to determine which digit should go where. ... found a "4"... makes no sense to me

Thanks for commenting. I quess the number puzzle was a bit unclear, but I created this walkthrough which might help:

Thank you so much! I tried solving it after only reading "pick a rock from the table" but The meaning of the numbers on the disk were too confusing. I thought my task was to find outer numbers in the room so I know how to align the inner numbers and didn't even begin calculating, assuming the binary matrix on the right would have to do with it. Then I was worried the buttons underground were a puzzle too so it took me a while to start switching them. i was clueless for a while but after staring at the google result of a oil rig I finally realized what the password might be.
